In September one of the largest rooftop photovoltaic installation in the city of Irvine of 680 kW went online. Irvine is located in the centre of Orange County and is dedicated to matching or exceeding the energy and emissions reduction goals of the State California. The solar system was built on three separate roofs totaling over 100,000 square feet. Over 2,200 InstaRacks with a 10 degree tilt angle were installed to mount the solar modules.
The InstaRack system manufactured by Sollega is a radically different approach to solar installation. The InstaRack is a one-piece, pre-formed solar mounting system made from durable lightweight high density polyethylene plastic (HDPE). The installing team was amazed by the speed and ease of installing Sollega’s InstaRack system with only one tool.
The installed rooftop system will generate an estimate of 900,000 kWh per year. The client company will be able to cover up to 80% of their electricity demand with on site generated solar power. This is a big step in the company’s ongoing efforts to conserve natural resources and to minimize their environmental impact.
This system was installed using fasteners from the Dura-Con Advanced Fastening Systems line, an innovative proprietary product by Mudge Fasteners that has recently been taking the solar industry by storm. The installing team acknowledged the high compatibility of the InstaRack system and the Dura-Con fasteners – the new solar dream team.
