NASA SATOP
The Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) is a NASA funded program designed to provide technical assistance and speed the transfer of space technology to the private sector. Sollega worked with NASA SATOP engineers to develop a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model of the wind forces on rooftops with solar panels, parapets, and air conditioners to simulate the dynamic interactions between the wind and the rooftop elements. The results of this study helped us develop our proprietary in-house ballast calculator that optimizes weight and safety. Click here to learn more
Sustainable Energy Partners
Sollega is a spinoff sister company of Sustainable Energy Partners (SEP). SEP is a clean energy development firm started in San Francisco in 2005. The firm started out offering solar power system design and development for commercial clients. Since then, the services have expanded to include energy audits, green building retrofit analyses, LEED certification, ENERGY STAR portfolio benchmarking, carbon footprint analysis, carbon credit brokering, and more.
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)
NYSERDA provides support to Sollega as one of the main funding partners of NYC ACRE. NYSERDA also provides direct support to Sollega through the Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) program. EIR’s are in-house experts that provide consulting and guidance to the Sollega Executive team. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) seeks to support the growth and development of clean energy companies in New York State by supporting business activities that enable their expansion.
NYU-Poly,The Polytechnic Institute at NYU
Sollega has access to NYU-Poly Faculty and facilities and performs strength/mechanical testing and analysis at their labs in Brooklyn. The faculty have also provided support in interpreting ASCE civil engineering codes, structural engineering issues, wind loading calculations, and have helped with the development of our in-house ballast distribution calculator tools.
NYC ACRE
Sollega’s New York headquarters is located at NYC ACRE, the Clean Tech incubator program funded by NYSERDA and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYC EDC). NYC ACRE is managed by NYU-Poly, and ACRE tenants have access to researchers and resources at NYU-Poly, Columbia, and Pratt.
ITAC
New York City’s Industrial Technology Assistance Corporation (ITAC) has been providing support to NYC based manufacturers for over 20 years. ITAC has helped Sollega with Business plan and financial modeling help, manufacturing expertise, connections to local government and private resources, as well as domain expertise in both business and manufacturing.
